> Painting / Solvent on print
Painting on the pages of a magazine only with brushes and solvents to dissolve the ink, mix the colours, change the shapes, transform the image. PHOTOMELTING is an "analog photo editing software." An idea, born as a game, for "melt" the print beeing inspired, stroke after stroke. PHOTOMELTING works subtracting: the color can not be added but only removed or moved.
"Faces: A Primordial Form" at The Lloyd Gill Gallery
27th May - 21st June 2013.
The camera moves faster than the framed subject: the shapes are lost, overlapping lights and shadows, colors are blended. It's the dematerialization of the traditional narrative language and the review of the relationship between subject and background. By putting yourself on the same level of flowing things (rather than exceed their speed) you can perceive an indefinite spatial and temporal dimension, freezing all the time of exposure in a single instant. CAMERACINETICA is also a revenge against the digital technicism and constrain the instrument to bypass the goal of perfection for which has been designed.
> Photography + photo editing
After several tens of years of immobility, a 'wrong' photo attempts to return the former living beings (embalmed and exhibited in the zoological collection of the Musei Civici of Reggio Emilia) to their natural environment. The blurred defective images become credible witnesses - in virtue of their imperfection - of an awakening otherwise impossible to get.
